Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage, evaluate, and assess the information required to construct high-quality commercial projects on time and within budget. The role involves overseeing and coordinating technical aspects of construction, ensuring alignment with contractual documents and project specifications. This individual will be responsible for supervising Assistant Engineers, Engineering Assistants, and Interns, and will report to the Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Project Executive.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a liaison between Architects, Consultants, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Inspectors, and Owner Representatives.

Oversee and resolve issues related to contract drawings and subcontractor documentation.

Ensure all plans and specifications align with cost estimates.

Manage the project budget and track cost implications of changes in the scope of work.

Administer submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs).

Evaluate compliance with contract specifications and resolve interpretation conflicts.

Lead negotiation and documentation of Change Orders, including analysis, estimation, and approvals.

Oversee the project close-out process, ensuring all documentation (as-builts, O&Ms, warranties) meets contract requirements.

Supervise and mentor support engineering staff and interns.

Prepare detailed Scope of Work documentation for subcontractor bidding.

Generate and maintain logs and reports (e.g., safety, quality control, change orders).

Schedule and conduct subcontractor meetings, preconstruction sessions, and submittal reviews.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Minimum 4 years of relevant construction project experience or equivalent education and training.

Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and LEAN construction methodologies.

Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, scopes of work, and schedules.

Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
Physical Demands:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear.

Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:

Exposure to construction site environments, including mechanical equipment, airborne particles, and loud noise levels.
