We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead AV Technician to oversee and execute audiovisual projects within our commercial integration division. The ideal candidate will lead a crew to ensure the successful completion of installation tasks, system configurations, and client trainings. This role requires a deep technical understanding of AV systems, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills to ensure projects are delivered on time and exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Project Execution: Lead and manage a crew of 3-4 technicians in the installation of AV systems, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Installation Tasks: Conduct a variety of installation tasks, including but not limited to cable pulling, connector installation, projector and screen support structure installations, and mounting projectors.
  • System Configuration and Testing: Oversee the configuration of AV systems, including control systems (such as Crestron and AMX), and conduct thorough testing to ensure systems are fully functional.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during and post-installation, ensuring any issues are promptly resolved.
  • Client Training: Conduct training sessions for clients on the operation and maintenance of AV systems, ensuring they are comfortable and satisfied with the technology.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship to technicians, enhancing team capabilities and promoting professional growth.
  • Customer Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction in the absence of the Project Manager.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive job documentation, including installation reports and configuration details.
  • Travel: Travel to various job sites as required to meet project needs.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of AV systems, including signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
  • Experience: Proven experience in AV system installation and configuration, preferably with leadership responsibilities.
  • Certifications: Crestron and AMX certifications highly desirable; CTS certification is a plus.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, with a commitment to safety.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and client interactions.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Project Management: Capable of managing tasks and deadlines, ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.

  • Leadership Experience: Prior experience leading a technical crew in the AV industry.
  • Advanced Certifications: Advanced certifications in Crestron, AMX, or similar technologies.
  • Customer Service: Strong background in customer service, capable of handling client concerns with professionalism and tact.

  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate ranging from $28 to $33 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
