Fire Alarm Technician

We're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm, Security, and Access Control Technician who can handle a mix of systems rather than just one specialty. This role covers installation, troubleshooting, and repair across fire alarm, access control, intrusion, and IP video systems for commercial customers including retail, office, warehouse, distribution, and industrial sites.

There are two paths within this team. Projects work involves more travel, typically one to three weeks at a time depending on workload. Service work stays closer to home, with techs on the road less often and home roughly 80 percent of the time.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling and equipment for IP video, access control, intrusion alarm, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and wireless LAN
• Run low voltage cabling including drilling and limited conduit work in commercial buildings
• Install and program fire alarm control panels based on building plans and electrical layouts
• Mount sensors and devices, including work in crawlspaces, attics, and at height on lifts
• Test newly installed systems to confirm proper operation and code compliance
• Read blueprints and site plans to guide installation work
• Coordinate with Installation Team Lead or Project Manager on schedules and equipment delivery
• Provide technical support on-site and remotely as needed
• Follow all safety requirements and current fire and electrical codes

Required Qualifications

• Valid state Physical Security and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology, or NICET certification strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72
• Comfortable working at heights of 20 to 60 feet on lifts
• Valid driver's license with a clean record, no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years
• Experience with multiple intrusion or access control system manufacturers is a plus
• Basic computer proficiency including email, spreadsheets, and ability to learn internal systems
• Reliable personal transportation during initial training period
• Strong communication skills for customer-facing work

Benefits and Compensation

• $20 to $45 per hour based on licensing, certifications, and experience

• Paid one week technician orientation in Lowell, Arkansas
