We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Coordinator to join our growing team in the site development construction industry. As the OHS Coordinator, you will support the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of safety protocols across construction sites. You'll play a vital role in helping ensure compliance with OSHA standards, industry regulations, and follow policies to maintain a safe, productive, and incident-free workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Inspections: Conduct weekly site safety audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues.
  • Monitor Compliance: Ensure all employees and subcontractors are adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Incident Reporting & Investigation: Assist in reporting, investigating, and documenting incidents, near-misses, and accidents. Support the development of corrective action plans.
  • Safety Training: Help coordinate and support safety training sessions including PPE usage, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update safety records including audits, training logs, safety meetings, and incident reports.
  • Promote Safety Culture: Participate in daily toolbox talks, near-miss programs, and safety meetings to foster safety awareness.
  • PPE Oversight: Monitor availability and condition of PPE and assist with distribution as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors, subcontractors, and safety managers to ensure alignment on safety goals and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred
  • 1-4 years of experience in construction or site safety roles
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification required
  • OSHA 510 Certification preferred
  • Prior experience in site development or civil construction is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a plus
  • Open to relocation is preferred but not required
