Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator - Construction & Site Development

Job Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented site-level Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator to join our growing team in the site development industry. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about safety, eager to learn, and interested in developing a career in the health and safety field. The OHS Coordinator will assist in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment by supporting the implementation and monitoring of safety procedures across job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Monitor day-to-day site activity to ensure workers and subcontractors are adhering to health and safety guidelines
• Assist with incident and near-miss reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions
• Support the coordination and delivery of safety training sessions and toolbox talks
• Maintain accurate records of safety meetings, training attendance, inspections, and incident reports
• Participate in promoting a positive safety culture through involvement in meetings and programs
• Ensure PPE is available, properly used, and in good condition. Help distribute PPE when needed

Qualifications:

• Interest in health and safety and a desire to grow in the field
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to work on active construction sites and engage with diverse teams
• Experience in construction or site development environments is a plus
• Familiarity with OSHA or local safety regulations is an asset
