Commercial Litigation Associate
Job Description:
An established boutique law firm is looking for an attorney with 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience to work on complex commercial litigation cases representing clients in both state and federal courts. The firm's clients include a variety companies, including multi-national corporations, other national and local companies, foreign sovereigns, former heads of state, athletes, and high-net worth individuals. Candidates should be prepared to work as part of a team on complex litigation matters at all stages of litigation, up to and including trial work.
This is a full-time position. Salary + full benefits is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
Commercial Litigation Associate Responsibilities
- Efficiently and competently research complicated legal issues
- Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda of law, discovery requests and responses, legal correspondence, etc.
- Handle all aspects of discovery, including taking depositions
- Argue at hearings, and assist in trials
- Communicate clearly both orally and in writing
Candidate Requirements
- 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience at a large firm or sophisticated boutique is preferred; but candidates with 1-2 years of commercial litigation experience will also be considered
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed in Florida
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced law firm
- Experience in federal court is a plus
- Spanish fluency is a plus
