Legal Assistant
Job Description:
Our client is a well established, small boutique firm specializing in plaintiff personal injury matters. They are seeking a full-time, in-office Legal Assistant for their Lake Worth office. You will be the face of the company for all visitors and will be responsible for the first impression we make.
Responsibilities:
- Review and draft documents (with the assistance of the Lead Paralegal)
- Create and maintain case files
- In-person and telephone client services
- Drafting and filing for court as needed
- Facilitate the meeting of attorney's deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders
- Answer all incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages.
- Scheduling and calendaring for the firm.
- Keep front desk organized and presentable with all necessary material (pens, forms, paper etc.)
- Greet and welcome guests.
- Receive letters, packages etc. and sort them.
- Assist with general clerical and legal tasks for firm, as needed.
Qualifications:
-Previous legal office experience required.
-Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
-Highly organized multitasker who works well independently in a fast-paced environment.
-Excellent time management and communication skills.
-Willingness to learn and to grow with the company, and to help out where needed in a small office environment.
-Strong work ethic, a positive attitude and reliability.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
-Bilingual highly preferred (English/Spanish).
Compensation:
$20-$22/hour (based on experience)
Full-time hours M-F, 8:30am-5pm. This position does not currently offer benefits beyond PTO and holidays, but will in the near future as the firm grows.
