Job Title: PLC Programmer Plastics Manufacturing

Location: Onsite (Minimum 3 days per week; additional onsite work required for production floor tasks)

About the Role:
We seek an experienced PLC Programmer with a strong background in industrial automation for plastics manufacturing. This role involves designing, programming, testing, and maintaining PLC systems to streamline and optimize production processes. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, technically adept, and capable of integrating real-time machine data into the ERP system (Delmia) to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement PLC programs tailored to plastics manufacturing processes.
  • Design control systems for automated machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and configure PLC hardware/software for production lines.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure seamless system functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with other equipment and control systems.
  • Provide technical support for production and maintenance teams.
  • Document programs, configurations, and modifications for future reference.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in automation technology, particularly in plastics manufacturing.

Qualifications:
Must-Have Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in PLC programming.
  • Proficiency in ladder logic, OPC UA Codesys, and machine-to-machine communication protocols.
  • Strong background in plastics manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage projects independently.
  • Experience with Python (highly preferred).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of Modbus, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi for automation applications.
  • Familiarity with IQMS or Delmia ERP systems.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, particularly in plastics.
