Job Description:
The HR Governance Senior Associate is a critical member of the HR Governance team, serving as a trusted advisor and partner to strengthen risk management and enhance the control environment within the HR organization. This role is instrumental in evaluating inherent risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements, and supporting audit and regulatory processes. The Senior Associate will act as a liaison between HR functional areas and Internal Audit/Regulatory Relations, contributing to a robust risk management framework across HR operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Control Testing Framework Development:

    • Assist in creating and implementing a comprehensive control testing framework to enhance HRs internal controls.
    • Design testing programs to assess the adequacy, design, and compliance of controls, identifying potential weaknesses or exposures.
  • Embedded Risk Management for HR:

    • Collaborate with risk and control partners to establish standards and requirements for HR functional areas.
    • Evaluate inherent risks and the effectiveness of the control environment at both functional and enterprise levels.
  • Process, Risk & Control (PRC) Inventory Management:

    • Expand and validate the PRC inventory to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Align PRC documentation with relevant laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit and Regulatory Engagement:

    • Serve as the central point of contact for audit and regulatory inquiries.
    • Oversee quality assurance and maintenance of documentation for audits and exams.
    • Coordinate post-audit and post-exam communications.
  • Incident Management:

    • Act as the primary contact for managing HR-related incidents.
  • Special Projects:

    • Support ad-hoc projects and lead small-scale initiatives to address emerging needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in audit, risk management, or compliance, preferably in financial services.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA) are a plus but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience evaluating processes, and regulatory requirements, and identifying risks.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain risk management documentation, including testing protocols and risk & control matrices.
  • Familiarity with automated control testing is ideal but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or other data analysis tools.
  • Effective challenge mentality, with the ability to critically assess and enhance existing controls.

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work EMEA shift (4 PM 1 AM, Monday to Friday).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in audit/compliance.
  • Strong background in risk management and control frameworks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
