As a Process Engineer - Project Lead, you will spearhead initiatives that improve work environments, elevate product standards, and optimize processes, directly influencing the company's bottom line. This dynamic role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, purchasing, planning, and maintenance, to implement cutting-edge processes, equipment, and assembly systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Project Leader for implementing new processes, equipment, and assembly systems.
- Analyze equipment, operations, and procedures to identify opportunities for improvements in safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and make strategic recommendations for equipment purchases.
- Select and apply modern manufacturing processes to deliver products at a competitive cost.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to optimize both current and new manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
- Specify tools, jigs, and fixtures to support manufacturing.
- Coordinate projects and resolve daily troubleshooting challenges.
- Develop process documentation, including visual work instructions.
- Support production with process troubleshooting and deliver measurable cost reductions (scrap, rework, cycle time).
Required Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering; OR 6+ years of equivalent experience with proven expertise in the field.
- 2+ years managing capital projects involving new equipment and/or systems.
- CAD experience (AutoCAD, Pro E, SolidWorks Creo) is required.
- 2-4 years of project engineering experience in a metal manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of equipment, systems, and engineering principles applicable to the discipline.
- Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, process mapping, capability studies, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
