About the Role: 

We are seeking a dedicated Fire Suppression Design Engineer to join our team. Whether youre an experienced Senior Engineer or a talented Junior Engineer, we want someone who is passionate about designing and implementing life safety and asset protection systems. As a Fire Protection Designer, you will play a key role in designing fire suppression and fire alarm systems for special hazards, ensuring safety and compliance at every step.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design fire protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software, ensuring compliance with local and national standards as well as manufacturer requirements.
  • Oversee contractors to ensure proper installation and functionality of fire suppression systems.
  • Conduct site surveys to confirm design accuracy and installation quality.
  • Review and interpret project specifications provided by customers.
  • Participate in training classes and pursue continued education to stay current with industry standards.
  • Develop customized operation and maintenance manuals for each project.
  • Update and maintain project drawings.
  • Support office staff with engineering-related tasks, including process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in system inspection, maintenance, and commissioning as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the fire protection industry, specifically in special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems.
  • Previous experience as a Design Engineer.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; knowledge of 3D design software is a plus.
  • Strong command of MS Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate technical details effectively.
  • Desire to stay current with industry standards and obtain NICET certification.

Must-Haves:

  • Fire protection design expertise focused on special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems (not limited to sprinkler systems).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • NICET Certification (or willingness to obtain).
