Job Overview
We seek a Bilingual HR Generalist (Spanish/English) to join our team and support our growing organization. This critical onsite role requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to help foster a positive workplace culture. The HR Generalist will manage various HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and HRIS updates while ensuring alignment with company policies and legal regulations. Local candidates in or near Victoria, TX are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- New Hire Processes: Manage onboarding, I-9 compliance, background checks, and drug screens.
- Orientation & Onboarding: Conduct new hire orientations and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- HRIS Management: Maintain accurate employee data and transactions in the HRIS system.
- Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, facilitate conflict resolution, and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws; track and document required training (e.g., ethics, anti-harassment).
- Leave Management: Assist with FMLA claims and leave processes.
- Disciplinary Actions: Facilitate employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare offer letters, handle DocuSign processes, and generate reports.
- Policy Updates: Conduct regular reviews of job descriptions and company policies to ensure they remain current.
- Perform other HR-related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in a similar HR role, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM, or equivalent HR certifications are a plus.
Required Criteria
- Bilingual: Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
- Location: Must reside in or near Victoria, TX.
- Restrictions:
- Cannot have prior employment with Safety Rail Service or this client.
- Must not have relatives currently employed by the client.
Additional Information
- Travel: Limited travel (10%), typically within the same week.
- Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Corporate HR Manager (not the facility manager).
- Exclusions: This role does not include timekeeping, payroll, or benefits management duties.
