Overview:
Join our team as a Survey CAD Technician, where you play a crucial role in creating accurate survey and construction plans. In this role, you'll utilize advanced software like AutoCAD Civil 3D to support project designs and contribute to engineering solutions. If you have at least one year of CAD experience and a strong understanding of civil engineering or surveying practices, we'd love to see you apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create, modify, and refine construction plans, including boundary, topographical, ALTA, and as-built surveys.
- Process raw design information, create surfaces, and manage data from survey databases.
- Perform essential mathematical calculations for project specifications such as pipe slopes, areas, and volumes.
- Interpret and map existing utilities from various formats (PDFs, GIS data, etc.) accurately.
- Develop site plans and utility layouts under minimal supervision.
- Produce stake-out coordinates and detailed plans for field crews.
- Check and review plans to maintain accuracy and compliance with CAD standards.
- Collaborate with team members, presenting technical information.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of full-time CAD experience in a related industry (more experience may qualify for a higher level role).
- High school diploma (Associate in a related field preferred) or equivalent experience in civil engineering/surveying CAD work.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (experience with MicroStation V8 or GeoPAK is a plus).
- Understanding of the metric system and ability to convert between metric and English units.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations essential to civil and survey projects.
- Ability to comprehend and follow CAD standards, as well as present information effectively to both clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and apply practical problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
- Office-based role with occasional field work.
