Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated,passionate,and talented engineering manager to support Azures explosive growth. The role involves leading a team of talented engineers to create simple solutions to complex engineeringproblems. You will have the chance to learn and provide deep technical impact, product innovation, understand and leverage a wide variety of technologies ranging from internals of different networking devices to building highly resilient and scalable microservices. You will involve yourself in:

  • Bringing clarity, creating energy, and driving results youll set a vision, rally the team behind it, and deliver for our customers.
  • Demonstrating the Microsoft manager attributes ofmodel,coach,and care with the engineers on yourteam,so they all learn, grow, and succeed.
  • Planning and prioritizing work for your team, including collaborating with partner organizations.
  • Creating an inclusive environment that attracts and retains high-performing engineers.
  • Architecting and leading the software development of distributed software services, automation tools and frameworks for accelerating new cloud build out and operations.
  • Providing overall technical leadership to the team and working closely within and across teams to help resolve technical conflicts and achieve consensus.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies that will take the business to the next level.
  • Evangelizing best engineering practices and processes within and across teams.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 12-15 years of experience in software development with solid design and coding skills and with strong focus on networking.
  • 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Strong experience in one of C#, C/C++, JAVA.
  • Experience in networking, including experience with networking protocols and standards.
  • Strong skills in architecting and implementing distributed systems and microservices.
  • Excellent technical leadership, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly effective collaboration skill cross teams and groups.
  • Passion for improving and streamlining the engineering process, tools, methodologies to develop and operate services at hyper-scale.
  • A minimum of a bachelors degree inComputer Science or Engineering.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with creating and operating distributed services in Azure/AWS/GCP and/or competitive offerings including packaging and deployment.
  • Experience inMicrosoft .NET technologies (C# and .NET Framework) and/or competitive offerings.
  • Experience in inter-service communication including authentication (e.g., certificate), metadata file format (e.g., XML, JSON) and API development (e.g., REST, gRPC).
  • Experience of working on networking protocols and services would be a plus.
  • Excellentcommunication andcollaboration skills with ability to develop partnerships.
