Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide database technical assistance to Developers, QA, Support and Business Analysts.
- Manage the schema migration file creations and performance benchmark testing.
- Review developer database SQL code for quality and adherence to standards.
- Write DB code that follows standards, meets customer needs, and performs well.
- Analyze and identify performance issues caused by poorly written SQL and resolve them.
- Analyze software defects and make suggestions and decisions on how to resolve the defects.
- Contribute to ongoing projects related to database services.
- Document and manage projects utilizing internal systems and procedures with a focus on making all processes repeatable and reusable by others.
- Provide Level 3 support for customer database server issues and/or performance inquiries.
Required Skills:
- College degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 3-5 years of experience with a market-leading RDBMS (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle)
- 3-5 years of experience with Complex SQL (Dynamic, Stored Procedures and Triggers)
- 1-2 years of experience Developing Applications
- 1-2 years of experience setting up and managing clustered server environments
- 1-2 years of experience managing various database backup and recovery strategies
- 2-3 years of experience working in more than one Operating System environment (Windows, Linux, AIX, Mainframe, etc)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Passion for delivering high-quality products and solutions
- A team-friendly attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent problem-solving skills Familiarity with the Agile software development model
- Ability to own projects and work with minimal direction to meet deadlines
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to read and interpret business requirements and technical documents
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
