Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer with over 8 years of expertise in CMDB (Configuration Management Database) design, governance, and data modeling. The ideal candidate will possess deep functional knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB best practices, workflows, and data governance to deliver high-quality CMDB solutions. This role involves leading and implementing CMDB processes, data models, and governance strategies to ensure accurate, complete, and reliable configuration data for IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:

CMDB Design & Governance:
-
Lead the design, implementation, and governance of the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational goals.

Develop and optimize data models and CI (Configuration Item) relationships within the CMDB, ensuring they support business requirements.

Define and implement CMDB data governance strategies to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and quality.

Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define and ensure effective configuration management processes.

CMDB Data Modeling & Workflow:

Design and implement data models for Configuration Items (CIs), ensuring proper relationships and categorization.

Develop and refine CMDB workflows for data reconciliation, CI lifecycle management, and data validation.
-
Configure and maintain business rules, data policies, and processes related to CMDB and asset management.

Implement and optimize workflows in ServiceNow to ensure smooth CI creation, updates, and relationships within the CMDB.

Best Practices & Continuous Improvement:

Stay current with ServiceNow CMDB best practices and industry standards, recommending and implementing improvements where applicable.

Lead the creation and execution of regular data audits, data health checks, and reconciliation processes to ensure CMDB integrity.

Continuously improve CMDB processes to support changes in infrastructure, assets, and services, ensuring that the data remains aligned with business requirements.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, asset management, and security, to ensure that the CMDB aligns with broader business objectives and workflows.

Serve as a key point of contact for all CMDB-related queries, providing subject matter expertise and support to business teams.

Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff members and provide guidance on CMDB processes, governance, and ServiceNow best practices.

Documentation & Reporting:

Document CMDB architecture, processes, configurations, and customizations for knowledge sharing and future reference.

Create and maintain clear documentation on CMDB workflows, data models, and governance strategies.

Generate reports and dashboards in ServiceNow to monitor CMDB health, including data quality, CI relationships, and lifecycle status.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience:

8+ years of experience with ServiceNow, including hands-on expertise in CMDB design, governance, and data modeling.

Proven experience in leading CMDB projects and implementing best practices for configuration management within ServiceNow.

Strong understanding of ITIL practices, particularly Configuration Management, and how they apply to CMDB management.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, including data modeling, CI relationships, and CMDB workflows.

Proficiency in ServiceNow platform customization (Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Script Includes, etc.).

Strong understanding of CMDB integration with other ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITAM, etc.).

Experience with ServiceNow reporting tools and dashboards, particularly around CMDB health and asset management.

Familiarity with automated reconciliation, data normalization, and data quality frameworks.
