Role Overview:
As the GCP Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, architecture, and implementation of cloud-based solutions using Google Cloud Platform. You will manage the technical aspects of cloud architecture, work closely with development teams, and provide guidance on best practices for GCP usage. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with GCP technologies, cloud infrastructure, and leadership in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Cloud Strategy: Architect, design, and implement solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring that the infrastructure is scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
- Cloud Migration: Lead cloud migration projects, helping organizations transition from on-premise or other cloud environments to GCP.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of cloud projects.
- Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, ensuring team alignment and skill development.
- Performance & Cost Optimization: Optimize cloud architectures to improve performance and reduce costs while maintaining high availability.
- Automation & CI/CD: Implement automation and CI/CD pipelines for GCP-based systems to improve deployment processes and reduce manual intervention.
- Security: Ensure that GCP solutions follow best practices for security and compliance, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), data encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop Cloud Solutions: Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications and services using GCP technologies, such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Cloud Pub/Sub, and more. This will be a partial allocation within sprints to remain close to the work.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure with at least 3+ years of experience working specifically with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and others.
- Cloud Architecture: Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud-native applications and microservices on GCP.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficient in programming languages like Python, Go, or Bash, and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
- CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Cloud Build to support automated deployment pipelines.
- Containerization: Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine).
- Networking & Security: Understanding of GCP networking, IAM policies, and security best practices.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in leading a team of engineers and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver large-scale cloud projects.
- Certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certifications are highly preferred.

Your technical expertise in cloud development, programming languages, and GCP services will be critical in ensuring the success of our cloud initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Cloud Solutions: Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications and services using GCP technologies, such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Cloud Pub/Sub, and more.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with other developers, data engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end cloud solutions.
- Cloud Architecture: Contribute to the design of cloud-based architectures that are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to industry standards and best practices for cloud development.

- Cloud Technologies: In-depth knowledge of GCP services, such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Cloud Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine).
- CI/CD & Automation: Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Cloud Build, or GitLab CI/CD for automating build and deployment processes.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or similar IaC tools to manage infrastructure in the cloud.
- Database & Storage: Experience working with databases and data storage solutions, such as Cloud SQL, Firestore, BigQuery, and Cloud Spanner.
- Cloud Security: Familiarity with cloud security best practices, including GCP IAM (Identity and Access Management), encryption, and compliance.
- Agile Development: Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
