Job Description:
We are seeking experienced SAP Basis Consultants to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in SAP Basis administration, with hands-on experience in managing SAP environments, performing system configurations, upgrades, and tuning. This role will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the SAP landscape, ensuring system integrity, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP System Administration: Manage and administer SAP systems including ECC, S/4 HANA, BW, BPC, PI, PO, CRM, SRM, and other SAP environments.
- System Installation & Configuration: Install and configure SAP systems, applying patches, and updates to ensure the stability of the systems.
- System Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Proactively monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to SAP environments, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure smooth operation.
- Database Management: Perform regular database maintenance activities such as backups, restoration, and optimization for SAP databases (e.g., HANA, Oracle, SQL Server).
- User Administration: Manage SAP user accounts, roles, and authorizations ensuring proper security policies are in place.
- System Upgrades & Patching: Plan and execute system upgrades, enhancement packs, and patches to keep the SAP landscape up-to-date.
- Backup & Recovery: Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure minimal downtime and secure data protection.
- Transport Management: Manage the SAP transport management system (TMS) for moving development objects across different SAP systems (development, quality, and production environments).
- SAP System Refresh/Cloning: Perform system refreshes, system copies, and sandbox cloning as needed for testing and development purposes.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP Basis-related issues, coordinating with other teams to ensure resolution of technical problems.
- Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate with ABAP developers, functional consultants, and other technical teams to provide Basis support for project implementation and support activities.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure systems are compliant with security standards and best practices, regularly conducting security audits and risk assessments.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration.
- Strong experience in SAP system installations, upgrades, and configurations (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, BPC, PI, PO, CRM, SRM).
- Experience in managing HANA databases and familiarity with other databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Knowledge of SAP Security and User Administration (creating roles, managing authorizations, etc.).
- Familiarity with SAP transport management system (TMS) for transport handling.
- Experience with system monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of backup and recovery strategies.
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows server environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve SAP technical issues.
- Certification in SAP Basis (good to have).
- Experience working in SAP landscapes with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud-based SAP solutions and migrations (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
