About the job IBM WAS Admin

Must Have:

  • Should possess basic Telecom domain knowledge​
  • Strong knowledge of administration of IBM WebSphere Application Server (versions 8.x, 9.x, or later).​
  • Expertise in WebSphere clustering, failover, and load balancing.​
  • Certifications: IBM Certified System Administrator WebSphere Application Server​
  • Deep understanding of Java EE architecture, including EJBs, servlets, and JMS​
  • Manage application deployment processes and troubleshoot deployment issues.​
  • Experience integrating IBM WebSphere with databases such as Oracle, DB2 or MySQL.​
  • Experience with integration with IBM MQ or similar messaging middleware.​
  • Knowledge of JDBC configuration and connection pool tuning.​
  • Ability to analyse and optimize JVM settings, garbage collection policies, and thread pools.​
  • Proficient in implementing SSL/TLS, configuring keystores/trust stores, roles and access controls to secure WAS environments.​
  • Understanding of Single Sign-On (SSO) and authentication protocols like LDAP, SAML, or OAuth.​
  • Document installation, configuration, and operational procedures for WebSphere environments.​
  • Provide support for critical issues outside business hours​
  • Willingness to work in 24 *7 shift based support environment​
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.​
  • Positive and proactive attitude towards troubleshooting and system improvement.​
  • Flexible to learn new technologies.​
  • Should be aware of ITSM processes Incident/Problem/Change/Release management.​
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel​

Good to Have :

  • Experience with wsadmin scripting using Jython or Jacl.​
  • Should be able to write Unix Shell Scripts​
  • Awareness of DevOps tools ​
  • Awareness of Oracle PL-SQL concepts and can understand simple PL-SQL code​
  • Experience in administration of IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM)​

Work Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server (versions 8.x, 9.x, or later).
