position Overview

The Plant Supervisor (Finishing) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all finishing operations within the steel plant, including cutting, straightening, surface treatment, inspection, and packaging of steel products. The role ensures safe, efficient, and quality-driven production processes, while supervising a team of operators and maintaining compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management

    • Supervise day-to-day finishing operations including cutting, grinding, polishing, coating, and packaging.

    • Ensure adherence to production schedules, output targets, and quality standards.

    • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate timely maintenance.

  • Team Leadership & Supervision

    • Lead, train, and supervise finishing line operators, technicians, and support staff.

    • Assign tasks, monitor work performance, and ensure compliance with operational SOPs.

    • Foster a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.

  • Quality & Safety Compliance

    • Ensure finished products meet required quality specifications and customer requirements.

    • Implement and monitor safety protocols, ensuring zero tolerance for unsafe practices.

    • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to minimize defects and reduce rework.

  • Process Improvement & Reporting

    • Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements.

    • Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and performance KPIs.

    • Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance checks.
