About the job Instrumentation Technician

Job Purpose : Assist the instrumentation maintenance activities under the guidance of the Instrument Engineer to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition and the implementation of safety procedures & policies, production reliability & efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation and simple mechanical problems on plant facilities and production equipment.
2. Perform work on small voltage switchgear and preventative maintenance per a defined schedule in a timely manner and documents concerns and resolutions in a database.
3. Organize planned maintenance of equipment and systems as per job plans and suppliers manuals.
4. Organize, supervise and control subcontracted work, determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities.
5. Conduct or arrange for workers to obtain training in safety and maintenance procedures.
6. Perform advanced trouble shooting of equipment or systems not performing as expected.
7. Monitor predictive and other maintenance indicators and compile and record maintenance data and tests/inspections/calibrations results.
8. Repair and or replace defective parts, reassemble overhauled equipment and carries out necessary tests and performance monitoring upon start-up and monitor spare parts accordingly.
9. Provide first instructions to visitors and other plant personnel in case of emergency or a site visit.
10. Identify emergency situations and perform security and safety reporting ensuring all HSE&Q instructions are strictly followed by workers in the shift and the root cause analysis of events, development of the corrective and preventive measures is done in compliance with company requirements.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    Technicians degree especially in production and / or maintenance field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • 3+ years of proven experience as Instrumentation Technician in a maintenance or production environment
  • Proficiency in performing Technician assignments and responsibilities, as well as tasks and testing techniques related to operations
