  • Responsible for foreseeing project opportunities and issues and adjusting strategies to embrace or mitigate them. They directly influence and negotiate with clients and suppliers regularly.
  • Has bottom-line accountability for the financial and technical success of the projects or area of project responsibility.
  • Responsible for the pursuit, capture, and management of all phases of medium and/or complex projects.
  • Accountable for the financial and technical success of the project, and they lead Project and/or Discipline Managers to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage Lump Sum Turnkey EPC/EPCI and Shutdowns (Engineer Procure Construct, or Engineer Procure Fabricate and Install) Projects in the range of $20m to $800m (typical).
  • EPFC Phase- Responsible for all matters pertaining to the project and project execution in accordance with the contract and the projects HSE, project security, quality, schedule, and financial goals
  • Accountable to Operations Manager management and the client for Client team performance
  • Front all newly awarded projects until permanent Project Manager is assigned
  • Develop newly awarded project deliverables for all stakeholders/departments
  • Maintain the authority to direct the Project Team within the bounds of policy and engage Senior Management for resolution of project issues and conflicts
  • May be assigned during the Precontract phase to manage the preparation of the Proposal in coordination with the Commercial team
  • During the Proposal phase, responsible for oversight of the Estimate preparation, associated support documentation, preparation of Bid and Project execution strategy, and will lead the Risk and Opportunity management program, among other activities
  • Act as principal representative, responsible for all matters pertaining to the Detailed Design execution effort in accordance with the contract and the projects HSE, quality, schedule, and financial goals
  • Hold accountability for the development of Detailed Design Win-it strategy
  • Principal representative who is responsible for all matters pertaining to ALL Project related matters for the execution effort in accordance with the contract and the projects HSE, quality, schedule, and financial goals
  • Maintain accountability for the development of Detailed Design Win-it strategy
  • Hold accountability to management and the client for team performance
  • Maintain authority to direct the Detailed Design subcontractor team within the bounds of policy and have access to Senior Management for the resolution of project issues and conflicts
  • May manage a discrete portion of a larger project
  • Manage and execute all phases of the project
  • Provide strategic Leadership of the Project (or pursuit)
  • Represent the company in front of the Client on the status of all current projects and is responsible for client satisfaction
  • Has bottom-line responsibility for all aspects of the performance of the project (technical, schedule, costs, quality, and safety)
  • Ensure projects comply with BMS policies and legal requirements
  • Deliver the projects at as-sold Good Practices GP (or better) and be responsible for accurate forecasting
  • Manage all project risks and opportunities
  • Establish a high-performance safety culture
  • Will aid the bid team from a project management perspective on all submissions, execute capture strategy, and lead technical & commercial bid efforts in conjunction with the Proposal & Estimating department
  • Manage all project managers through phases of a project or a discrete portion of a larger project
  • Deliver the Projects by the approved budget and baseline schedule
  • Ensure that all the Projects adhere to the requirements of the Quality Management System Ensuring that all the Projects adhere to the requirements of the HSE Management System
  • Develop, approve, and implement the Project Execution Plans with the project manager
  • Review the planning and resource allocation for all the projects with OM
  • Define role, responsibilities, and authorities for reporting and present to OM for review
  • Effectively delegates authority and responsibility
  • Ensure that the Main Contract and Subcontracts are correctly administered via Interface Manager, including an agreement with the variations in the scope of work
  • Establish & maintain relationships with the Client & Subcontractors
  • Prepare resolution of issues or conflicts between departments, Client and present for review with OM
  • Monitor and manage all the project risk profiles with the assistance of relevant departments and present for review with OM
  • Ensure all projects compliance with the contract in all aspects
  • Ensure all issue reports are prepared correctly for review to OM prior to submission to the Client by contract requirements
  • Support project managers when liaising with the Client and key subcontractors as required
  • availability to attend project meetings with the Client and subcontractors whenever possible
  • Ensure that all written documentation required under the contract for all projects is prepared and submitted on time and by contract requirements
  • Ensure that all project managers monitor the performance is achieved in relation to QA and HSE policies and practices and are properly administered and executed
  • Ensure the project managers comply with the project requirements for all personnel training and are undertaken to meet the project timeframe
  • Ensure proper administration of the contract, especially the protection of our contractual rights, and maximization of the opportunities, including negotiation of variations to the scope of work
  • Ensure proper management of change is incorporated and live MoC register is in place
  • Ensure robust decision-making process is utilized and recorded
  • Oversee contingency planning and lessons learned for the Engineering, Fabrication, Construction, and Installation scope
  • Ensure proper perform closeout activities, and submit documents as required by the contract and Closeout Procedure.
  • Bachelors Degree, HNC or HND in Engineering
  • Ability to develop Projects Execution strategy, Profit Plan, and objectives to ensure efficient and effective implementation, aligned with Policies, overall business strategy, and objectives
  • Technical competency in the subject matter of the Project to be able to manage the implications of technical challenges and selection of key project team members
  • Capacity to maintain a working knowledge of the projects as part of overall Project accountability and ensure implementation of required corrective actions
  • Data analytics focused in support of tracking and trending of all Project Performances
  • Ability to assist Project Managers in problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Ability to provide recommendations to the Operations group in the development of policies and procedures as part of the continuous improvement process
  • Ability to understand and be able to communicate the link between the Projects and corporate needs
  • Champion implementation and adherence to Processes, Procedures, and tools for the Projects
  • Ability to strategies and foresee potential issues
  • Knowledgeable/insight into work planning, schedule, cost controls, risk management, progress measurement, and forecasting to drive the Projects and its financial performance
  • Digital transformation focused - Demand organizations support with digital solutions on the projects as part of innovation, and continuous improvement processes
  • Understanding of EPC/EPIC and Shutdowns contracts and contracting strategies with the ability to communicate contract requirements to the Project Teams
  • Ability to empower and empathize with team members.
  • EPC/EPIC and Shutdowns 15+ years relevant Oil & Gas experience (Min. 5 years as a Snr PM) and 10+ years as PM relevant Oil & Gas industry experience
  • Post Graduate Management qualifications are an advantage
