About the job Fashion Designer
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creative process by generating innovative and trend-setting design concepts.
- Develop detailed design and technical sketches, mood boards, and prototypes for various fashion collections.
- Stay abreast of current fashion trends, market developments, and competitor offerings to inform and inspire design decisions.
- Utilize trend forecasting to anticipate and capitalize on emerging styles and consumer preferences.
- Expertise in fabric selection and thorough knowledge in pattern making, garment construction to collaborate with production team and pattern makers.
- Collaborate with technical teams to address manufacturing and production considerations.
- Have in depth knowledge and experience in various types of print designing (seamless prints, placement prints, panel prints etc.) on Adobe illustrator and photoshop
- Develop embroidery motifs using different embellishments and techniques to guide our in-house embroiderers and artisans.
- Lead and inspire a team of designers, guiding them through the design process and fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, marketing, procurement and production teams to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into the overall brand strategy.
- Oversee the development of samples and prototypes, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
- Conduct regular quality checks and provide feedback to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Present design concepts and collections to Creative Director, management team and clients, with clear and compelling communication.
- Effectively communicate design ideas and requirements to the production team, ensuring seamless execution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fashion design role.
- Proven track record of successful fashion collections and demonstrated expertise in various design styles.
- In-depth knowledge of fashion trends, textiles, and garment construction.
- A portfolio featuring projects that illustrate the entire creative process, from ideation to the final product.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (with a minimum proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) and Procreate.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
