Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot/repair building automation system

  • Provide feedback on proposed renovations re: impact on existing infrastructure systems if required

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues; complete minor repairs on systems such as but not limited to: VFD’s, transfer switches, building lighting systems, and UPS systems

  • Conduct visual inspection of high voltage switchgear

  • Ability to troubleshoot, reset, draw out/in, test, and replace Low Voltage Air Circuit Breakers of capacities up to 4000 Amps

  • Ability and basic knowledge to work with Medium Voltage Power Transformers and disconnect switches including switching on/off and maintenance

  • Maintain/service and repair/replace: motor control centres, switches, breakers/ switchboard components, fixtures, branch circuit wiring, transformers, capacitors, transfer schemes, ballasts, electrical and electric/pneumatic control devices, etc

  • Operate/complete minor servicing of: chiller, life safety systems heat pumps, air conditioners, air handling units, power generating equipment, etc

  • Ability to create isometric drawings, material takeoffs and price jobs

  • Assist/Delegate other classifications/trades as required


Hours of Work:

  • Monday - Friday; some overtime, on-call and weekend work to support operational needs


Required Qualifications:

  • OSSGD or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ontario trade certification of qualification (309a or 442a)

  • Master Electrician designation or ability to obtain qualification considered an asset

  • 7-10 years in the operation and maintenance of facilities

  • Working knowledge of Ontario & National Electrical Code

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)

  • Microsoft Office/Google Suite experience is considered an asset
