Job Summary
The GM of Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the garment and textile manufacturing processes. This role ensures smooth production flows, operational efficiency, and adherence to quality standards, while leading a team to meet both short-term and long-term production goals. The position requires a strategic leader who is capable of handling the operational challenges inherent in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibility

Operational Management:
- Oversee the overall operations of the garment and textile manufacturing process, ensuring production schedules, budgets, and deadlines are met.
- Manage production flow to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, reduce operational costs, and increase production efficiency.

Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the operations team, ensuring proper staffing, training, and development of employees.
- Foster a positive, results-driven work culture.
- Set performance goals for team members and monitor progress.

Production Planning & Control:
- Develop and implement production schedules based on customer demand, production capacity, and material availability.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources, including manpower, materials, and machinery, to meet production targets.
- Troubleshoot any production-related issues that arise and ensure timely resolutions.

Quality Control & Compliance:
- Establish and maintain high standards for product quality, ensuring that finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Implement quality control systems to monitor product consistency and defect reduction.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
- Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure adequate materials are available for uninterrupted production.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies to avoid shortages or excess stock.

Budgeting & Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring effective cost control and resource utilization.
- Analyze cost trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Provide regular reports on operational costs, production performance, and any budget deviations.

Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and optimize quality.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques and other methodologies to streamline operations.
Qualification:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Textile Manufacturing, or related field
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in a senior operational or managerial role in garment/textile manufacturing.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of garment and textile manufacturing processes, including cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality control.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of production planning, budgeting, cost management, and operational efficiency.
