Job Summary 

The GM of Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the garment and textile manufacturing processes. This role ensures smooth production flows, operational efficiency, and adherence to quality standards, while leading a team to meet both short-term and long-term production goals. The position requires a strategic leader who is capable of handling the operational challenges inherent in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibility

  1. Operational Management:

    • Oversee the overall operations of the garment and textile manufacturing process, ensuring production schedules, budgets, and deadlines are met.
    • Manage production flow to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, reduce operational costs, and increase production efficiency.
  2. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and manage the operations team, ensuring proper staffing, training, and development of employees.
    • Foster a positive, results-driven work culture.
    • Set performance goals for team members and monitor progress.
  3. Production Planning & Control:

    • Develop and implement production schedules based on customer demand, production capacity, and material availability.
    • Ensure the efficient use of resources, including manpower, materials, and machinery, to meet production targets.
    • Troubleshoot any production-related issues that arise and ensure timely resolutions.
  4. Quality Control & Compliance:

    • Establish and maintain high standards for product quality, ensuring that finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Implement quality control systems to monitor product consistency and defect reduction.
    • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  5. Supply Chain & Inventory Management:

    • Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure adequate materials are available for uninterrupted production.
    • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  6. Budgeting & Cost Management:

    • Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring effective cost control and resource utilization.
    • Analyze cost trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
    • Provide regular reports on operational costs, production performance, and any budget deviations.
  7. Process Improvement:

    • Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and optimize quality.
    • Implement lean manufacturing techniques and other methodologies to streamline operations.

Qualification:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Textile Manufacturing, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in a senior operational or managerial role in garment/textile manufacturing.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of garment and textile manufacturing processes, including cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality control.
    • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of production planning, budgeting, cost management, and operational efficiency.
