Job Overview:
The Distribution Head will be responsible for overseeing and managing the distribution operations for our FMCG client. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a team and ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement distribution strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives
- Manage a team of distribution staff, including training, and performance management
- Monitor and analyse distribution performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to clients, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to forecast demand and plan distribution accordingly
- Oversee inventory management and ensure optimal stock levels are maintained
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and efficient distribution services
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and identify opportunities for business growth
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve distribution processes and strategies
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws related to distribution operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in distribution management, preferably in the FMCG industry and have experience in all channels including MT and GT
- Proven track record of successfully managing matrix distribution operations and leading a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proficient in using distribution management software and tools
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to distribution operations
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Willingness to travel as required
