Position Title: Engineering Lead Civil/Structural PV Solar & BESS Plants

Reports to (Job Role): Senior Lead

Reported by (Job Role): Design Engineer

Education: Bachelor or Master Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

Experience: 7-12 years for Lead and 4 - 7 years for Senior position. 

Experience in Design and Detailing of Civil and Structural Works related to Balance of Plant works (BOP) in Solar Power plant projects.

Should be well versed in design using International Standards. Exposure to American, Euro standards would be an added advantage.

Objective: The person shall be responsible for the complete design and detailed engineering for Solar Power plants like Mini Grid and Megawatt scale plants.

The Design Lead shall manage and review the entire design documents and drawings for a project or a set of smaller projects including co-ordination with other disciplines viz., Electrical, instrumentation and Mechanical.

Design Lead (Solar Layout) shall co-ordinate with Design Consultants and manage the Engineering activities within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, Design of Foundation Layout PV Solar Tracker Structures, Foundation marking including levels above Ground suitable for Tracker movement and Robotic cleaning equipment movement in an optimised manner
• Review, Design of Site Grading Works for optimised solutions
• Review, Design and detailing of Road, drain, boundary fence and gate
• Review and Design of Equipment foundations in Solar Plant (IDT Transformer, HT Panel, LA)
• Submission of design document and drawings to client for approval
• Maintaining Document Control Index(DCI) for Document Tracking
• Coordination with Site Team and Client to meet the requirements of design and drawings
• Checking BOQ and material with respect to previous projects
• Preparation of DBR scope of work for Project Engineering
• Interaction with Client for Drawing Approval and Clarification
• Interaction with Site for Clarification on drawing
• Interaction with SCM for Clarification on drawing

Technical Expertise:

Design Lead (Layout) shall be capable of executing the engineering activities for civil & structural covering Foundation Layout PV Solar Tracker Structures, Foundation marking, Site Grading Works Transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads and drainage, outdoor steel structures and miscellaneous works related to the Solar Power Plant. Design Lead shall be able to review Vendor engineering documents with respect to Civil & Structural design.

Operating Network:

• Internal: Engineering Heads, Cluster Heads , SCM, QC, other PEMs, proposal team, Safety(Sometimes) , Other Section Heads, Design Engineers, Draftsman
• External: Clients (decision making authority) / Consultants , Vendors

Key Performance Indicators:

• On Time Delivery, Quality control, Quantity w.r.t ACE (Accepted Cost Estimate), Internal Process, Development of Subordinates, Customer Relations, innovation (New idea implementation), Savings from the project

Codes, Software Skills Required:

• American, Euro Standards
• Review of Site Grading works with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Infraworks
• Review of Hydrology Analysis software including HECRAS
• STAADPro, ETABS and exposure to REVIT, Google Earth
