Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Procurement & Contracts Superintendent with 12-14 years of relevant experience in the coal mining industry. This role will involve overseeing procurement processes, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies while supporting the company's operational needs and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Management:

Ø Develop and implement procurement strategies for operational requirements, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of goods and services.

Ø Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and establish effective processes to meet those needs.

Ø Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate supplier performance to ensure optimal service delivery.

  1. Contract Management:

Ø Oversee the development and negotiation of contracts in collaboration with legal and technical teams to ensure compliance with regulations and mitigate risks.

Ø Monitor contract performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure all parties fulfill their contractual obligations.

  1. Compliance and Risk Management:

Ø Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements related to procurement and contracts.

Ø Assess and manage risks associated with procurement activities and contractual agreements.

  1. Team Leadership:

Ø Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring high performance.

Ø Provide training and support to team members on procurement best practices and contract management.

  1. Budget Management:

Ø Assist in the development and management of procurement budgets, tracking expenditures against forecasts.

Ø Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.

  1. Reporting and Analysis:

Ø Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, contract status, and performance metrics for senior management.

Ø Analyze market trends and industry developments to inform procurement strategies and decision-making.

Qualifications:

Ø Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is advantageous.

Ø 12-14 years of procurement and contract management experience, with at least 5 years in the coal mining or related industry.

Ø Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex contracts.

Ø Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ø Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

Ø Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
