Sr. Data Center Engineer (Civil Work & Fire Protection), ICT Infrastructure (Thailand)

Responsibilities

Civil Works Design and Construction:

• Design, implement, and oversee civil engineering projects, including site grading, drainage systems, foundation design, and road infrastructure for data center facilities.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams to ensure civil work components meet data center operational and safety requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and other relevant standards.
• Conduct site assessments to evaluate site conditions, including soil, water, and geotechnical conditions.

Fire Protection Engineering:

• Design, install, and maintain fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, fire suppression, smoke detection) for data center facilities.
• Perform risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize fire hazards.
• Ensure fire protection systems comply with relevant fire codes and industry standards, including NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes.
• Provide expertise on fire protection systems and manage inspections, testing, and maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure civil and fire protection aspects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Ensure designs comply with safety regulations and standards, and maintain proper documentation.
• Identify risks, lead safety training, and ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, fire protection engineering, or related fields, with at least 2 years of experience in data center projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software related to civil and fire protection systems.
• In-depth knowledge of fire protection codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, UL, local fire codes).
• Strong project management skills, including budget management, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
• Large-scale data center (over 500 racks) consulting, design, or project management experiences are highly appreciated
• Strong communication, presentation, listening, and negotiation skills.
• Good teamwork, good adversity quotient, adaptability to challenges and pressures
• Open-minded, good interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills in multicultural organizations
• Willing to travel in Global, especially Asia-Pacific Region

Professional Knowledge

• Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles for data center infrastructure, including site grading, drainage, and foundation systems.
• Knowledge of fire protection systems, including sprinkler, suppression, and alarm systems, and their design standards.
• Familiar with relevant fire safety codes, including NFPA standards and local regulations.
• Certification in Fire Protection Engineering or similar qualifications is preferred.
• Familiar with data center eco-system for mainstream vendors and its products, and technologies.
