About the job Avionics Engineer
As an Avionics Engineer at Poseidon Aerospace, you will be responsible for the design and development of electronic subsystems for our aircraft. You will work on designing, building, testing, and improving reliable, flight-ready components. The ideal candidate will have experience working with avionics systems for autonomous aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of avionics system-level design and integration, making informed decisions and trade-offs as needed.
- Prototype, design, develop, and validate flight control computers, communication systems, power management electronics, and navigation systems for aircraft.
- Develop best practices and tooling for avionics and electrical engineering design, prioritizing performance, reliability, and safety.
- Create and maintain in-house avionics test setups, including flight environment simulations, GPS simulation, power distribution simulation, and communication testing.
- Plan and carry out avionics qualification testing to meet standards for vibration, shock, thermal cycling, and environmental durability, and support your hardware from testing through to operational use.
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience designing and validating PCBAs for high-performance, safety-critical environments such as aviation or automotive.
- Proven ability to take high-reliability electronics subsystems from concept to deployment in real-world settings.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of complex projects.
- Skilled at iterating on system requirements and architecture to achieve efficient and practical designs within constraints.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and optimizing avionics systems, including detailed electronics debugging.
