JOB DESCRIPTIONS
- Responsible for supervising Operational Specialists in the Yard and Wharf container operations.
- Ensures that the team works efficiently and safely, follows all procedures, and manages any issues appropriately. It also communicates vessel and yard operation plans, strategies, and requirements clearly to the team.
- Ensure strict compliance with PTP safety policies and procedures and promote safe working practices at all times.
- Ensure that all terminal operations are executed in accordance with guidance received from Shift Managers. Take ownership of issues that arise during the shift and find appropriate solutions.
- Assist the Shift Managers in the supervision and control of berth, vessel, yard, equipment dispatching, making the optimum use of available equipment and labor resources.
- A driving force in managing the whole operations team with due regards to safety, high productivity, quality and labor relations.
- Focal point and coordinate to ensure smooth and efficient operations between planning, operations execution, Dispatching and FMT.
- Manage, motivate, and coach individuals on the team, ensuring development plans and understudy programs are in place. Responsible for performance management for all direct reports.
- Provide effective support between the wharf and yard operation. Proactively support on the equipment dispatching and planning activity.
- Coordinate Daily briefing to team this include Operation Specialist and Lashing Team update on previous GMPH/PMPH and current target especially on Long Crane.
- Manage resources in terms of attendance, deployment and other relevant assets.
- Liaise with the vessel agent to ensure smooth and efficient operations as well as to understand and manage their requirements.
- To complete other work tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma/Degree in Transportation, Logistics Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Valid driving license (minimum Class D) to operate a light vehicle.
- At least 3 years' experience in container terminal operations or logistics management.
- Able to handle high workload and maintain productivity over long hours when required.
- Works independently and performs well under pressure.
- Creative and able to develop practical solutions and new ideas.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
- Responsible and takes ownership of assigned tasks.
- Resourceful, well-organised, proactive, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literate and proficient in English and Malay (spoken and written).
- Good judgment, analytical thinking, and reporting skills.
