SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

The Project Integration Division (PID) is responsible for all strategic and large capital investments of Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP). As part of PIDs Project Integration team, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for supporting PIDs project managers with project engineering, project management, site management, and QA/ QC activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Support Project Managers with the smooth execution of projects in accordance with the Divisions Project Implementation Framework and ensure projects adhere to the QA/QC standards, as specified in the contracts and agreed in the quality plans.
2. Responsible for the coordination of site activities by internal resources, consultants, and contractors on project deliverables (electrical, civil or equipment-related projects).
3. Liaise with local authorities (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local regulations.
4. Demonstrate excellent project management and supervision skills. Build a strong relationship with relevant stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle.
5. Inspect and validate the quality of works done for the assigned projects to verify and ensure adherence to the quality requirements in compliance with the specifications and standards.
6. Maintain comprehensive and precise project documentation, progress reports, specifications, drawings, manuals, checklists and relevant records at designated document repository points.
7. Foster a continuous improvement culture based on the lessons learned from past projects and provide recommendations for future enhancement.
8. Observe and drive safety rules and practices on site.
9. Effectively execute other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelors Degree in Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Structural or any Engineering-related field.
2. Minimum 5-7 years of project management experience in civil/infra, infrastructure, port, or maritime-related industry.
3. Exposure to and understanding of Electrical Networks, SCADA systems, HV & LV, Building Services and Infrastructure (Land, Road, Water, Sewerage, etc.) or port-related equipment would be preferred.
4. Proficient with MS Office and MS Project software.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay.
6. Self-discipline and ability to work independently with the project assigned.

1. PMP certification would be an added advantage.
2. Well-structured and able to create an overview of issues and follow up thoroughly until resolutions are reached.
