We operate a hybrid working model, with a split of days being in the office and days being worked at home. Pepper Money has three offices across the UK and one office in Manila, where this role will be based.

What you will be doing

As the Lead Analyst you will assist the Head of Decision Science by leading the delivery of the CCRO function by working with stakeholders across the business to enable higher quality business decisions, in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for the oversight of two direct reports.

As part of this, you will develop, enhance, and assist with the production of management information and business intelligence across the business. Key areas that you will support across are Credit Risk Portfolio Management, Modelling and Analytics, Reporting and Business Intelligence, Communication and Documentation.


What we are looking for

We are looking for somebody who has the proven ability to lead a team across the above areas as well as being confident in their knowledge to coach and support a team of analysts to deliver against set objectives to help the CCRO function reach their strategic goals. As part of this you will:

  • Ensure work is documented to a standard that is sufficient for handover and compliance with internal control standards
  • Be responsible for the creation of real-time interactive dashboards, ensuring these are accessible, to allow colleagues to make appropriate, timely decisions in all areas of activity
  • Deliver and provide ad hoc business intelligence, reporting, and data
  • Build and deploy analytical models in a way that is technologically accessible to the team that will own and use it
  • Provide regular insight into portfolio changes, highlighting areas of strength or weakness


Competencies

  • Ability to lead and coach a team with end goals in mind
  • Skilled in identifying opportunity and implementing improvements
  • Numerate logical and strategic thinker with sound commercial judgement
  • Skilled in written, verbal, and visual communication. Able to present clear, well- considered, confident arguments to stakeholders

Knowledge

  • Proven experience and knowledge across data and analytics including analysis, visualisations and dashboarding, predictive modelling, forecasting and machine learning
  • Significant experience and understanding of relevant analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, SQL, or equivalent or software systems (e.g. Microsoft PowerBI, Azure Data Factory)
  • Sound knowledge of credit risk
  • Significant experience working within a financial organisation, with knowledge and experience from multiple areas within the business
