About the job Information Systems & Technology Director
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Information Systems & Technology Director to lead the organization's overall technology strategy, digital transformation, information systems, cybersecurity, data, and IT operations.
This role will work closely with senior leadership to translate business priorities into a reliable, secure, scalable, and business-enabling technology environment. The successful candidate will ensure that technology investments, systems, and services support business growth, operational efficiency, employee productivity, data-driven decision-making, and business continuity.
The position offers an opportunity to lead enterprise-wide technology initiatives and drive meaningful digital transformation across multiple business functions.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Digital Transformation
- Develop and execute a multi-year IT and digital transformation roadmap aligned with business strategy, growth plans, and operational priorities.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, integrate, and digitize business processes.
- Drive technology initiatives that improve productivity, scalability, operational efficiency, and measurable business value.
- Lead organizational change and technology adoption initiatives across the business.
Enterprise Applications & Business Systems
- Provide strategic leadership and governance for enterprise applications and business-critical systems, including:
- ERP
- CRM
- HRIS
- Finance systems
- Sales force automation and commercial platforms
- Other enterprise and operational applications
- Ensure systems are integrated, scalable, secure, fit-for-purpose, and effectively supported throughout their lifecycle.
- Lead system enhancement, implementation, replacement, and optimization initiatives.
IT Infrastructure & End-User Services
- Ensure the availability, reliability, performance, and security of IT infrastructure.
- Oversee networks, cloud services, collaboration tools, devices, and end-user computing environments.
- Establish clear IT service standards and ensure responsive technical support for employees.
- Drive continuous improvement in IT operations and user experience.
Cybersecurity, Data Privacy & Business Resilience
- Lead the organization's cybersecurity, information security, and data privacy initiatives.
- Establish and maintain appropriate security controls, monitoring, and incident response capabilities.
- Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity programs.
- Identify and manage technology-related risks and ensure appropriate escalation and remediation.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices across the organization.
IT Governance, Financial & Vendor Management
- Establish and implement IT governance, policies, standards, architecture principles, and operating procedures.
- Manage IT budgets and ensure technology investments deliver business value.
- Oversee vendors, contracts, software licensing, technology procurement, and outsourcing arrangements.
- Manage third-party technology and cybersecurity risks.
- Recommend major technology investments and strategic initiatives to senior management.
Data, Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Strengthen the organization's business intelligence, reporting, dashboard, and analytics capabilities.
- Improve data quality, accessibility, and reporting efficiency.
- Enable leaders to access timely, accurate, and actionable information for commercial, financial, operational, supply chain, and people-related decisions.
- Drive initiatives that support a more data-driven organization.
Project & Portfolio Leadership
- Lead the overall IT project portfolio from business case development and prioritization through implementation, adoption, stabilization, and benefits realization.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets, and business outcomes.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technology solutions address real business needs.
People Leadership
- Build and lead a capable, accountable, and service-oriented IT organization.
- Develop technical and leadership capabilities within the team.
- Establish performance standards, succession plans, and development initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, innovation, security, integrity, and customer focus.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications, certifications, or executive education in technology, cybersecurity, digital transformation, or business management are advantageous.
- At least 10 years of progressive IT experience, with significant leadership responsibility across multiple technology areas.
- Strong technical background in coding and software development, with hands-on experience in designing and developing systems.
- Proven experience leading and managing enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, HRIS, finance systems, and/or sales force automation systems.
- Strong experience across IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, data, and digital transformation.
- Experience managing IT budgets, technology investments, vendors, contracts, licensing, outsourcing, and procurement.
- Solid knowledge and experience in cybersecurity, data privacy, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional technology projects and managing organizational change and user adoption.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, distribution, retail, regulated, or consumer-driven environment is highly advantageous.
