Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Finance Functional Consultant specializing in the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process to support the design, configuration, and optimization of Workday Financials solutions.
This role focuses on enabling end-to-end procurement, supplier management, and accounts payable processes within Workday. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, finance teams, IT, and external partners to ensure seamless system integration, process efficiency, and strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior P2P Consultant will lead the functional design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Procure-to-Pay solutions. The role involves gathering business requirements from procurement, finance, and IT stakeholders and translating them into effective Workday configurations and functional specifications for technical teams.
The position is responsible for configuring and maintaining Workday Procurement, Supplier Accounts, and Accounts Payable modules, ensuring alignment with end-to-end P2P processes and internal control standards. The consultant will support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and AP workflows, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
The role includes conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), troubleshooting system and process issues, and providing post-implementation support. The successful candidate will also deliver training sessions and develop documentation to support end-users and operational teams.
In addition, the consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams in global environments and may provide mentorship or guidance to junior team members or procurement specialists. The role also involves staying updated on Workday releases and recommending enhancements to improve system functionality and business outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate has at least 3+ years of Workday Financials functional experience, with strong expertise in the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process. A solid background in Accounting or Audit is required, along with a strong understanding of procurement workflows, supplier lifecycle management, and accounts payable processes.
Candidates should have strong knowledge of the accounting equation and its application within digital ledger systems, as well as proven experience in Workday configuration, testing, and deployment activities. Hands-on experience managing complex P2P and intercompany reconciliations, including diagnosing ledger variances and supporting period-end close processes, is highly valued.
The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams. Experience with Workday Financials certification, Workday Procure-to-Pay administration, or similar credentials is preferred.
Exposure to integration touchpoints between Workday and third-party procurement or payment systems is an advantage, as well as familiarity with Record-to-Report (R2R) or Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes. Experience with NetSuite is considered a plus.
