KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership & Software Development
  • Lead one or more software development squads and provide technical direction, guidance, and mentorship.
  • Remain hands-on with software development, including writing and reviewing code.
  • Participate in technical design and architecture discussions for complex applications and systems.
  • Review code and ensure development work follows established engineering and quality standards.
  • Identify and implement practical and scalable technical solutions to complex business and engineering challenges.
  • Promote best practices in software development, architecture, and engineering processes.
Solution Design & Digital Transformation
  • Design and develop flexible, scalable systems that can support business growth.
  • Translate business and stakeholder requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Participate in the development of new digital solutions and improvements to existing systems.
  • Evaluate new technologies and approaches that may improve system performance, scalability, and development efficiency.
Product & Delivery Collaboration
  • Work with the Head of Technology, Product teams, and other stakeholders to define technical priorities and delivery timelines.
  • Translate product requirements and business objectives into actionable technical tasks for the development team.
  • Provide estimates and recommendations for user stories and development activities.
  • Support backlog preparation and ensure requirements are sufficiently defined for development.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and regular delivery activities.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
  • Mentor and develop software engineers within the team.
  • Provide technical guidance and support when developers encounter complex issues.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  • Help establish a culture of accountability, quality, and effective problem-solving.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong professional experience in software development, particularly in backend development using Java, Golang, Node.js, Scala, or similar object-oriented/open-source technologies.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical direction to software development teams.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, application architecture, and system design.
  • Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and automated deployment tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with GitOps environments such as ArgoCD, Kubestack, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of OpenAPI standards and service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience using modern coding/AI-assisted development tools is an advantage.
  • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse management, procurement, inventory, or other retail technology environments.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
  • Experience building and scaling enterprise applications or platforms.
