The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization's financial operations through accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of financial transactions. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls while providing timely financial information to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including sales reports, product costing, gross profit analysis, and trial balances.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
  • Prepare tax filings, returns, and supporting schedules in compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and other financial balancing activities.
  • Review and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain pricing and discount structures within financial systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit requirements and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
  • Support treasury-related activities and coordinate with banks and other external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations.
  • Provide support for ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred or required, depending on organizational requirements.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, taxation, audit support, or cost accounting.
  • Exposure to product costing, profitability analysis, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, treasury functions, and external auditors or regulatory agencies.
