Job Overview
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Linux infrastructure and related technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational and project objectives.
- Support scheduled maintenance activities, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving critical production issues.
- Execute operational tasks to ensure the availability and stability of enterprise systems.
- Manage service requests, incidents, problem records, and change requests using an IT service management (ITSM) platform.
- Participate in a 24/7 operational support and on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications
- Expert-level experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Strong experience with VMware infrastructure deployment, administration, and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, AWX, or Puppet.
- Experience working with enterprise job scheduling tools.
- Solid understanding of Linux security hardening, system performance tuning, and best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in complex on-premises Linux environments.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and infrastructure configuration management.
- Experience with Solaris administration, including logical domains (LDOMs) or similar virtualization technologies, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of enterprise storage and volume management solutions is preferred.
- Exposure to Linux workloads running on AWS or Microsoft Azure is a plus.
