About the job Azure Integration Architect
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Azure integration professional to join a growing technology consulting practice that helps organizations modernize their platforms, connect enterprise data, and build secure, AI-ready operations at scale.
In this role, you'll design, build, and govern enterprise-grade integration solutions on Microsoft Azure Integration Services, enabling secure and reliable connections across cloud, hybrid, and SaaS environments.
Depending on your level of experience, you may focus primarily on hands-on delivery of integration solutions (Consultant track) or on architecture, standards, and strategic design leadership (Specialist / Architect track).
Either way, you'll work closely with business stakeholders, application teams, security architects, and platform engineers to ensure integration solutions are fit for purpose, sustainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
What You'll Do
Design & Delivery
- Build integration solutions using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, and API Management.
- Apply modern integration patterns — API-led, message-based, and event-driven — to solve business problems.
- Translate business and technical requirements into practical integration designs.
- Deliver integrations spanning ERP, CRM, HR, data platforms, and other SaaS systems.
Architecture & Standards (Architect / Senior track)
- Define integration architecture, reusable patterns, and best practices.
Establish enterprise integration standards and reusable assets. - Ensure designs align with security, identity, networking, and governance requirements.
- Review and govern integration solutions across multiple delivery teams.
Quality, Operations & Support
- Build in monitoring, logging, error handling, and retry logic.
- Support testing, deployment, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.
- Maintain clear operational documentation and runbooks.
Collaboration & Advisory
- Partner with business, application, data, and platform teams throughout delivery.
- Advise stakeholders on integration approach, tooling choices, and trade-offs.
- Mentor junior consultants and developers (Architect / Senior Consultant candidates).
What We're Looking For
- Strong, hands-on expertise across Azure Integration Services.
- Solid experience with REST APIs, messaging, and event-driven architecture.
- Understanding of data transformation, mapping, and integration design patterns.
- Working knowledge of Azure security, identity, networking, and DevOps practices.
- Experience integrating enterprise and SaaS platforms.
Experience — Specialist / Architect Level
- 10+ years of overall IT experience, including 7+ years focused on Azure integration and solution architecture.
- Demonstrated track record of defining enterprise integration strategy and standards.
Core Competencies
- Comfortable navigating complex systems integration work, adapting delivery approach (agile, waterfall, or hybrid) and making sound calls even with incomplete information.
- Applies fit-for-purpose governance, decision records, and quality controls to protect delivery outcomes.
- Skilled at managing stakeholders and vendors, aligning multiple parties around scope, milestones, and technical standards.
- Brings commercial and requirements discipline — clarifying assumptions, dependencies, and risks, and maintaining clear requirements traceability.
- Able to translate architectural intent into build-ready artifacts that engineering teams can execute with confidence.
- Champions secure-by-design delivery, embedding security, privacy, and access controls from the outset.
- Leverages reference architectures and reusable accelerators to speed up delivery and improve consistency.
- Designs with operations in mind — monitoring, support model, runbooks, and auditability — for stable post-launch operations.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Integration Services (or equivalent Azure certification).
- TOGAF or a similar architecture certification is a plus (Specialist / Architect track).
What Success Looks Like
- Integration solutions that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
- Data and process flows that run with minimal manual intervention.
- Integration issues that are well-monitored and quickly resolved.
- Solutions that are easy to operate, support, and extend over time.
- Azure Integration Services established as a core capability across the organization.
- Delivery teams consistently apply standardized integration patterns.
