Job Summary
The IT Inventory and BOM SME is responsible for managing IT asset inventory and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) to support business operations and technology projects. The role ensures inventory accuracy, standardization of IT components, and timely availability of equipment for new site deployments, upgrades, and operational requirements. This position works closely with IT, Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, and Project teams to support efficient asset management and technology implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records of IT assets, including POS systems, desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, printers, handheld devices, and peripherals.
- Create, maintain, and standardize Bills of Materials (BOM) for new site deployments, renovations, technology upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure BOMs are accurate, complete, and aligned with technology standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, and vendors to ensure timely procurement and availability of IT equipment and components.
- Monitor inventory movements, transfers, deployments, repairs, returns, and asset disposals.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, reconciliation, and variance analysis to maintain data accuracy.
- Maintain complete asset documentation, including serial numbers, warranties, software licenses, and lifecycle records.
- Support project teams by preparing technology requirements and ensuring equipment readiness for implementation.
- Analyze inventory trends and recommend optimal stock levels to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
- Develop and improve inventory control processes, asset governance, and documentation standards.
- Prepare inventory, BOM, utilization, and variance reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls related to IT asset management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in IT Inventory Management, IT Asset Management, Configuration Management, or BOM Management.
- Proven experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOM) for IT infrastructure, technology deployments, or related projects.
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware, POS systems, networking equipment, and asset lifecycle management.
- Experience using ERP, Inventory Management, or IT Asset Management systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations, retail, food service, hospitality, or other fast-paced environments is an advantage.
