Firewall Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a Firewall Specialist to support network security projects, infrastructure changes, and critical migration initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. This role is responsible for implementing firewall changes, supporting network migration activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that all network security deployments comply with established standards and governance requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with firewall technologies, routing and switching, and network migration projects, along with excellent coordination and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
Network Security & Firewall Administration

• Configure, implement, and maintain firewall policies and security controls across enterprise environments.
  
• Support firewall deployments, rule modifications, and security enhancements in accordance with change management processes.
  
• Manage and troubleshoot firewall technologies, including policy configuration, traffic analysis, and access control implementation.
  
• Ensure firewall configurations align with organizational security standards and compliance requirements.
  

Infrastructure Migration & Change Delivery

• Participate in network infrastructure migration projects, including application migration through secured firewall environments.
  
• Execute approved network and security changes while minimizing operational risks and service disruptions.
  
• Support critical network transformation and migration activities through detailed planning, coordination, and execution.
  
• Validate firewall and network configurations before, during, and after implementation activities.
  

Routing & Switching Support

• Provide support for enterprise routing and switching environments.
  
• Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity, routing, and firewall-related issues.
  
• Collaborate with network teams to ensure seamless integration between security and network infrastructure components.
  

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to facilitate successful project delivery.
  
• Participate in project planning, implementation scheduling, and deployment activities.
  
• Communicate project progress, risks, and technical requirements to relevant stakeholders.
  
• Support knowledge transfer activities and operational readiness following project completion.
  

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate technical documentation, implementation records, and network diagrams.
  
• Ensure all activities comply with organizational standards, governance requirements, and change management processes.
  
• Prepare handover documentation and operational procedures for support teams.
  
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to network security and project delivery practices.
  

Qualifications
Required Experience

• Experience supporting enterprise firewall and network security environments.
  
• Hands-on experience with:
  
• Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls
  
• Cisco ASA Firewalls
  
• Cisco Routing and Switching technologies
  
• Experience implementing firewall policies, security controls, and network access configurations.
  
• Experience supporting network infrastructure migration projects and application migrations through secured environments.
  
• Strong understanding of change management processes within enterprise IT environments.
  

Technical Skills

• Firewall administration and security policy management.
  
• Network routing and switching fundamentals.
  
• Firewall migration planning and execution methodologies.
