About the job Market Access Manager
We are looking for an experienced Market Access Manager to develop and execute strategies that improve and sustain access to priority healthcare products across relevant channels in the Philippines.
This role will play a critical part in navigating the local healthcare environment by developing strategies around pricing, reimbursement, institutional access, government pathways, procurement, healthcare financing, and product value.
The successful candidate will work closely with Commercial, Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Supply Chain, and other key stakeholders to identify access barriers and translate them into practical, evidence-based strategies.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of the Philippine pharmaceutical or healthcare landscape who can combine commercial thinking, stakeholder management, healthcare knowledge, and strategic execution.
Key Responsibilities
Market Access Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute annual and medium-term market access strategies aligned with portfolio and business objectives.
- Identify access barriers across products, therapeutic areas, customer segments, healthcare channels, and geographic areas.
- Develop market access plans for priority brands, new product launches, lifecycle initiatives, and strategic portfolio priorities.
- Maintain clear access roadmaps, including milestones, stakeholders, dependencies, resource requirements, and success measures.
- Develop recommendations in response to changes in pricing, reimbursement, procurement, healthcare policy, and market conditions.
Pricing, Reimbursement & Value Strategy
- Support the development of pricing strategies using market intelligence, competitor analysis, affordability, customer requirements, and product value.
- Conduct price benchmarking and assess the impact of discounts, tenders, contracts, reimbursement rules, and procurement mechanisms.
- Support reimbursement, formulary, and institutional access initiatives.
- Develop compelling product value propositions and stakeholder-specific value messages in partnership with Medical and Commercial teams.
- Work closely with Finance to evaluate pricing, volume, margin, affordability, and profitability considerations.
Government & Institutional Access
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant healthcare stakeholders, government agencies, institutions, hospital groups, procurement organizations, and healthcare financing stakeholders.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive stakeholder map covering key access decision-makers and influencers.
- Understand institutional decision-making processes, procurement requirements, formularies, reimbursement mechanisms, and access pathways.
- Identify opportunities to improve product availability, inclusion, affordability, utilization, and continuity of access.
- Support institutional and government account strategies by providing market access intelligence and recommendations.
Healthcare Policy & Market Intelligence
- Monitor developments in Philippine healthcare policy, pricing, reimbursement, procurement, public health programs, and other healthcare developments that may impact market access.
- Assess potential business implications and provide timely recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Maintain market access intelligence, reports, dashboards, and relevant databases.
- Participate in relevant industry discussions, professional associations, and stakeholder engagements, as appropriate.
Evidence & Value Development
- Identify evidence gaps that may affect product access, reimbursement, formulary inclusion, or institutional adoption.
- Partner with Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and relevant experts on evidence-generation initiatives.
- Support health economics, budget-impact, outcomes, and real-world evidence initiatives when applicable.
- Translate clinical, economic, and technical information into clear and relevant value messages and business cases.
- Ensure all evidence used for access strategies is credible, current, appropriately sourced, and compliant.
New Product & Launch Access
- Integrate market access requirements into new product and launch planning.
- Develop access assumptions, stakeholder engagement plans, milestones, and risk assessments for priority launches.
- Support launch readiness activities related to pricing, reimbursement, institutional listing, procurement, and stakeholder requirements.
- Coordinate with Commercial and Supply Chain teams to align product availability and demand expectations.
- Monitor access milestones and escalate critical barriers or delays.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal/Compliance, and other relevant teams.
- Provide market access insights for brand plans, business reviews, forecasts, investment cases, and strategic planning.
- Translate market intelligence into actionable recommendations for commercial and account teams.
- Prepare executive presentations, access strategies, stakeholder briefs, business cases, and decision papers.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all market access activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain appropriate standards for stakeholder engagement, documentation, and approvals.
- Identify and escalate material commercial, pricing, regulatory, financial, compliance, and reputational risks.
- Develop practical tools, playbooks, templates, dashboards, and guidelines to support consistent market access execution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Business, Economics, Life Sciences, Health Economics, or a related field.
- Typically 5–8 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Pharmaceutical Market Access
- Pricing and Reimbursement
- Institutional Business
- Government Affairs
- Commercial Strategy
- Healthcare Consulting
- Healthcare Access
- Minimum of 5 years of Sales and/or Marketing experience, preferably with managerial or leadership responsibilities.
- Strong experience within the Philippine pharmaceutical or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Experience working cross-functionally on strategic, commercial, or healthcare initiatives.
- Experience engaging with government, hospitals, institutional customers, procurement organizations, payers, or healthcare financing stakeholders is an advantage.
