Job Openings Social Media & Content Manager

About the job Social Media & Content Manager

About the Role

We are an emerging beverage brand inspired by Ayurveda — the 5,000-year-old Indian wellness practice centered around daily rituals for a more holistic and balanced life. Currently growing our retail presence in New York City alongside our e-commerce business, we are entering an exciting stage of growth with additional product launches planned and a strong focus on building community and brand awareness across the U.S.

We're looking for a Social Media & Content Manager who can help co-lead our social media strategy while also being highly hands-on with day-to-day execution. This is not simply a scheduling or community management position — we want someone who brings ideas to the table, helps establish a clear content strategy, identifies what is and isn't working, and works closely with the founders to bring that strategy to life.

Work Structure & Requirements

  • Location: Remote / Virtual
  • Schedule: Part-time (20 hours per week)
  • Time Zone: EST business hours
  • Compensation: $8 USD per hour

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Strategy

  • Develop and help lead the organic social media strategy across Instagram and TikTok
  • Establish clear content pillars, formats, themes, and posting strategies rather than creating content on an ad-hoc basis
  • Help grow our presence and reach specifically within the U.S. market, with an initial focus on New York and relevant U.S. consumer communities
  • Identify opportunities to improve audience targeting and ensure content reaches the brand's intended demographic
  • Develop platform-specific strategies for Instagram and TikTok while identifying opportunities to repurpose high-performing content across channels
  • Build content plans around new product launches, retail growth, founder stories, and other key brand moments

2. Content Creation & Video Editing

  • Work closely with the founders to develop content ideas, scripts, hooks, and creative briefs for founder-led videos
  • Give the founders clear direction on what content should be filmed and how it should be structured
  • Edit founder-shot footage into engaging TikToks, Instagram Reels, and Stories
  • Create strong opening hooks, pacing, captions, and edits designed to maximize retention and engagement
  • Identify relevant TikTok, Instagram, and broader cultural trends and adapt them creatively for the brand
  • Help maintain a consistent brand voice, look, and feel across all social content
  • Develop organic content and creative concepts that can also be tested and repurposed as paid social advertising creatives

3. Publishing & Community Management

  • Own or support the day-to-day publishing of content across Instagram and TikTok
  • Manage comments, DMs, and general community engagement
  • Proactively engage with relevant U.S.-based consumers, creators, communities, and complementary brands
  • Help build genuine relationships around the brand rather than relying solely on paid audience acquisition
  • Identify relevant local communities, events, wellness groups, creators, and other opportunities that could strengthen our presence in New York and the wider U.S. market

4. Creator & UGC Support

  • Identify creators and UGC opportunities that align with our target customer and brand positioning
  • Coordinate basic creator outreach, product seeding, and UGC collaborations
  • Maintain creator lists and help manage communication and follow-ups
  • Identify high-performing creator content that could be repurposed across organic and paid channels

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 3+ years in social media management, social strategy, content marketing, or a similar role
  • Platforms: Strong experience managing and growing brands across Instagram and TikTok
  • Strategy: Demonstrated ability to develop social media strategy as well as execute it
  • Video: Strong short-form video editing skills, particularly for TikTok and Instagram Reels; excellent understanding of hooks, storytelling, retention, and short-form content best practices
  • Trends: Ability to identify trends and translate them into content that feels relevant to a specific brand rather than simply copying trends
  • Communication: Strong written English; ability to write engaging social copy, captions, scripts, and content concepts
  • Analytics: Comfortable analyzing social media performance and making recommendations based on data
  • Profile: Highly proactive, creative, and comfortable suggesting ideas rather than waiting for detailed instructions; sits somewhere between a Social Media Strategist, Content Manager, and hands-on Creator
