About the job Senior IT Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced support for hardware, software, networking, and system issues.

  • Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot servers, networks, firewalls, and storage systems.

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of IT systems, upgrades, and security solutions.

  • Ensure system backups, disaster recovery, and data protection procedures are effective and up-to-date.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess IT needs and deliver optimal technical solutions.

  • Supervise or mentor junior IT staff, providing technical guidance and best practices.

  • Manage system documentation, configurations, and IT asset inventories.

  • Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects across multiple departments.

  • Enforce IT policies, procedures, and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO, GDPR, NIST, etc.).

  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement, licensing, and support of hardware and software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT support, system/network administration, or infrastructure.

  • Deep knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, networking, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and virtualization (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V).

  • Experience in cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.

  • Experience in scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.

  • IT certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or similar are preferred.
