Senior Playable Ads Developer

About the Role

This role is part of a creative and performance-driven team focused on building high-quality playable ads for casual and hybrid casual games. The work directly supports performance marketing goals by delivering engaging, technically strong playable experiences across major ad networks.

As a Senior Playable Ads Developer, you will take ownership of technical quality and consistency across all playable projects. You will define standards, mentor team members, and solve complex development challenges to improve performance, efficiency, and creative impact.

This is an in-office role based in Bangalore, where close collaboration drives innovation and speed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Playable Ads Development

• Lead the creation and maintenance of high-quality 2D and 3D playable ads using Cocos Creator (v3.x) and other browser-based game engines.
• Deliver playable ads that meet strong engagement and performance benchmarks.

2. Technical Standards & Workflow

• Define and maintain reusable systems, best practices, and development standards.
• Improve production workflows to ensure faster, more reliable, and high-quality delivery.

3. Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to mid-level developers.
• Encourage collaboration, skill development, and strong engineering practices.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with artists, designers, and User Acquisition (UA) teams.

• Convert creative ideas into playable ads that are both visually strong and technically sound.

5. Problem Solving & Architecture

• Identify and resolve complex technical issues proactively.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and improvements in the playable ads pipeline.

6. Performance & Business Impact

• Improve performance, file size efficiency, and creative effectiveness of playable ads.
• Directly contribute to business outcomes by improving ad engagement and conversion.

7. Quality & Documentation

• Maintain high standards for documentation, performance testing, and QA across all projects.

8. Ad Network Integration

• Integrate and optimize playable ads with ad-network wrappers such as MRAID.
• Ensure smooth deployment across platforms including Unity (WebGL export), Applovin, IronSource, and Mintegral.

Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience in game development or interactive web experiences, with strong focus on playable ads.
• Proven expertise in building scalable and high-performance 2D/3D playable ads using Cocos Creator (v3.x preferred), JavaScript, and HTML5.
• Experience with modern browser-based game engines and front-end technologies.
• Hands-on experience exporting playable ads for major ad networks such as Unity (WebGL), Applovin, IronSource, or Mintegral.
• Strong experience integrating MRAID or similar ad-network SDKs/wrappers.
• Ability to optimize playable ads to strict size limits (typically 3–5 MB) without losing quality or performance.
• Strong understanding of ad performance metrics such as CTR, IPM, and CVR, and how technical decisions affect results.
• Proven ability to technically lead, mentor, and inspire a development team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to code quality and detail.

Good to Have

• Experience with C++.

• Experience with Unity game development.
