About the Role

A leading game art production team is seeking a Senior 3D Character Artist with 7 to 10 years of experience in the gaming industry. This role involves creating high-quality, detailed, and visually compelling 3D character models that enhance immersive game worlds. The artist will lead the character art pipeline, collaborate with multiple departments, and contribute to defining the artistic direction for characters in various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling: Create stylized 3D characters, environments, and props with exaggerated forms and creative details. Work on high-poly and low-poly models while optimizing for performance.
• Texturing and Shading: Develop unique textures and shading for stylized assets using tools like Substance Painter, ZBrush, and Photoshop. Ensure proper UV mapping and unwrapping techniques.
• Software Proficiency: Expertise in industry-standard 3D software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, and Cinema 4D. Familiarity with sculpting tools (ZBrush, Mudbox) and texturing software (Substance Suite, Mari).
• Artistic Vision: Translate abstract concepts into visually engaging stylized art while applying color theory, composition, and design principles.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot challenges related to 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering, ensuring assets are optimized for performance without compromising quality.
• Collaboration and Mentorship: Work closely with art directors, animators, and team members to maintain a consistent visual style. Provide mentorship and feedback to junior artists.
• Adaptability and Innovation: Stay up to date with industry trends, incorporating new tools and techniques to enhance production quality.
