We are currently seeking a dedicated and accomplished Senior Heavy Construction Estimator for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to this landmark project that is poised to deliver transformative impacts across economic, transportation, and environmental sustainability.
The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. This is a milestone project that is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.
As the Senior Heavy Civil Construction Estimator, you'll play a pivotal role in the delivery of this significant project. Responsibilities:
Lead the estimating process by applying strong financial insight, strategic planning, and clear communication to produce accurate cost analyses, develop reliable estimates, and mentor team members. Your leadership ensures projects remain on budget and meet schedule commitments, driving overall organizational success.
Apply advanced knowledge of project controls including cost and schedule management techniques tailored to large-scale transit and infrastructure projects.
Work closely with estimating teams to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for diverse transit program elements such as civil works, structural components, architectural finishes, electrical and mechanical systems, track and utility installations, maintenance facilities, signaling and communications, bus depots, and wayside power systems.
Report project and program progress directly to the Program Controls Manager, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience in estimating public civil infrastructure construction projects, with experience in tunneling.
- Proficiency in cost estimating methodologies and techniques related to construction.
- Experience in preparing detailed cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), civil, structural, or architectural construction projects.
- Strong ability to produce high-quality materials within tight timeframes and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
The estimated starting salary for this position is $200,000 - $300,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
