Planning & Scheduling Manager

We are seeking to appoint a full-time, talented Planning & Scheduling Manager to support major capital projects in the Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing sectors. In this pivotal, client-facing role you will oversee the strategic planning, scheduling, and delivery of projects, providing technical and tactical leadership while ensuring alignment with company goals, managing client relationships, and improving cost and schedule management processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Project Planning & Strategic Oversight: Manage the delivery of key assignments, providing strategic direction, and ensuring alignment with company objectives, while monitoring planning performance across specified sectors and contributing to long-term business success.

Scheduling & Monitoring: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of projects and tenders, analyzing large amounts of scheduling data to identify trends, risks, and issues, and providing solutions to the project team and key stakeholders.

Client-Facing Planning Leadership: Act as the primary planning and scheduling manager for clients, offering tactical and technical advice, managing project stages, and fostering strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

Cost & Schedule Management Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to cost and schedule management processes, templates, and procedures to enhance service delivery and ensure the effective management of post-contract schedule variances, change control, and valuation processes.

Project Control & Data Analysis: Utilize critical thinking to analyze project data, trends, and variances using project control methodologies such as Earned Value Management (EVM), while supervising and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize project delivery and reporting.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree (MS or MBA preferred)
• Demonstrated capital project experience within multi-phase Life Science, Manufacturing, Technology or other significant capital programs
• Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including alternative project delivery (design build and construction manager at risk)
• Membership in APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development
• Extensive experience in the successful planning of projects and programs in the consultancy sector
• Deep project or infrastructure project management expertise
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams
• Experience managing relationships with key senior stakeholders
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
