Senior Cost Consultant - Life Science & Manufacturing

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Cost Consultant to support major capital projects in the Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing sectors.
This is a client-facing role where you will provide strategic guidance, cost planning, procurement support, and financial oversight across complex capital projects. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client goals. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes, while maintaining a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as a client-facing Senior Cost Consultant who assists with strategic, tactical, and technical advice.
- Interfacing with clients, external and internal consultants at all project stages.
- Conducting feasibility studies and production of procurement reports.
- Producing of ROMs for new and pipeline projects for a project budget to be based on.
- Day-to-day cost management of medium-large scale client projects including procurement, pay requests, change management, invoice processing and cost reporting.
- Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project involving existing protocols and systems.
- Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
- Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including, pre-qualification, enquiry, evaluation, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
- Ensuring that post contract cost variances, change orders, cost checking and valuation processes are managed effectively.
- Ensuring the production of monthly post contract and cost reports and presenting them to the client.
- Providing value engineering and life cycle costing.
- Managing the final account negotiation and agreement.
- Ongoing updating of benchmarking efforts as new projects are executed to provide real cost data to client.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Degree (Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Quantity Surveying or other)
- Experience working with integrated team(s) on large complex and multi-phase life science and industrial manufacturing capital programs.
- Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
