We are seeking to appoint a full-time, talented Senior Planning & Scheduling Manager to support major capital projects in the Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing sectors. In this pivotal, client-facing role you will lead and oversee the planning and scheduling function for large-scale life science and industrial manufacturing projects, ensuring they are effectively planned, executed, and delivered successfully. This role involves managing project teams, analyzing schedule data, maintaining strong client relationships, and providing strategic guidance to meet project objectives aligned with the client goals.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Leadership: Manage and lead the delivery of key planning assignments across life sciences and industrial manufacturing projects, providing strategic direction to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives. Monitor and adjust performance to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within scope.

Project Scheduling & Performance Management: Oversee the planning function for all projects, ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. Implement a comprehensive project scheduling framework to optimize project performance and mitigate scheduling risks.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Absorb, analyze, and interpret large volumes of scheduling data to identify trends, issues, and potential risks. Provide detailed progress comparisons, productivity analysis, and schedule risk reviews, and communicate findings to project teams and stakeholders to inform decision-making.

Stakeholder & Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders, establishing strong relationships to ensure client objectives and project timelines are met. Act as an extension of the client's senior leadership team to ensure the successful completion of assigned programs.

Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor the project scheduling team, fostering a collaborative environment while ensuring the effective delivery of large, complex projects. Oversee the team's performance and provide guidance for professional growth and development.

Governance, Processes & Continuous Improvement: Establish and implement effective project governance, processes, and systems to ensure smooth project execution. Use performance management techniques, such as KPIs, to continuously improve project performance and deliver timely, high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree (MS or MBA preferred) and achieved professional qualification
  • Demonstrated capital program leadership experience
  • Experience in effective management of integrated team(s) on large complex and multi-phase life science, industrial manufacturing or other large capital programs
  • Awareness of current methodologies and tools to manage/analyze develop planning/schedule information related to projects (MS Excel, MS Project and Primavera P6)
  • Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including alternative project delivery (design build and construction manager at risk)
  • Good working knowledge of planning/scheduling, EVM, project controls methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of schedule management tools and software
  • Membership in APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development
  • Extensive experience in the successful planning of projects and program in the consultancy sector
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise
  • Understand data management
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams
  • Experience managing relationships with key senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the future outlook of the projects
